Domaine Bzikot

Domaine Bzikot, established in Puligny-Montrachet by Polish immigrant Sylvester Bzikot in the 1960s, has evolved into one of Burgundy's most respected family estates, crafting wines of exceptional precision and elegance across their prestigious holdings in the Côte de Beaune.

History

From Polish Roots to Burgundian Excellence

The Bzikot story began when Sylvester Bzikot left Poland in search of a better life, eventually settling in Puligny-Montrachet where he worked the vines as a farm hand. Through determination and hard work, he gradually acquired his first parcels of land, laying the foundation for what would become Domaine Bzikot. Today, his son Philippe, having taken the reins in 1990, has elevated the estate to new heights by combining his father's traditional wisdom with modern winemaking expertise, expanding their holdings to include some of Puligny-Montrachet's most prestigious terroirs.

The Vision

Respect for Terroir, Pursuit of Purity

Sylvester Bzikot's approach to winemaking is guided by an unwavering respect for Burgundian tradition and terroir. Each vineyard parcel is treated individually, with meticulous attention paid to soil health and vine balance. In the cellar, Philippe employs a thoughtful combination of traditional and modern techniques, using carefully selected oak and precise temperature control to ensure each wine authentically expresses its unique terroir. The domaine's philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing each bottle to serve as a pure reflection of its distinguished origins.

The Wines

The Noble Whites of Puligny-Montrachet

The Bzikot portfolio showcases the remarkable diversity of Burgundian terroir through three distinctive expressions. Their Bourgogne Côte d'Or Chardonnay offers a pristine introduction to the family's style, with bright citrus and orchard fruit characteristics. The village Puligny-Montrachet elevates the expression with more pronounced minerality and refined structure. The crown jewel, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières, sourced from the acclaimed Les Perrières vineyard, demonstrates remarkable complexity and depth, with intense mineral precision, white flower aromatics, and the characteristic tension that has made this Premier Cru one of Burgundy's most sought-after whites.
