Domaine Thibert Père et Fils

History

A Family Legacy in the Mâconnais

The Thibert family's connection to the vineyards of the Mâconnais spans multiple generations, but it was René Thibert who formally established the domaine in 1967. His children, Christophe and Sandrine, took over operations in the mid-1990s, bringing fresh energy and vision while respecting their father's traditional approach. Through careful acquisition of exceptional vineyard sites and implementation of rigorous farming practices, they have transformed their family estate into one of the region's most highly regarded producers.

The Vision

Elevating Mâconnais Through Precision

The Thibert siblings operate with a clear mission: to showcase the distinct personality and potential of their diverse terroirs through meticulous vineyard management and precise winemaking. Their philosophy combines organic farming principles with minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing each parcel to express its unique characteristics. The estate's modern winery, built in 2009, enables them to work with gravity flow and temperature control, ensuring optimal conditions for their precise, terroir-driven approach to winemaking.

The Wines

Exceptional Expressions of Mâconnais Terroir

The 2020 vintage from Domaine Thibert Père et Fils brilliantly captures the exceptional character of this warm, concentrated year. The wine displays intense aromatics of ripe citrus, white peach, and subtle notes of honey, balanced by the classic mineral backbone typical of their holdings. The palate reveals remarkable depth and precision, with perfectly integrated oak adding complexity without overshadowing the pure fruit expression. This vintage showcases the Thibert siblings' ability to craft wines of both power and elegance, demonstrating why they are considered among the finest producers in the Mâconnais.
